Daniel
My name is Daniel Weiherer. I’m from California, USA. I love science, nature, and crafts. In university I worked at a greenhouse and a paleontology research center. Then in graduate school I studied botany and taught science laboratories.
I moved to Japan in 2019 to teach English for Nanao city public schools. It was my desire for teaching experience and also my interest in Japanese culture that brought me here. Now I live in Himi and I am the owner and teacher of HanaBee; I also raise bees and produce honey in Himi.
Even though I enjoy teaching, my passion truly lies in science and nature. I want to inspire students to develop these interests. That’s why I decided to make the STEM courses.
My dream is to buy a mountain to build a STEM/English gakudou for students, a nectar haven for bees, and a homestead in a forest garden for my family.
